During my USC summer school, I worked on a project that introduced me to architectural scale and composition through direct observation and using the body as a measuring tool. This project encouraged me to critically examine how we perceive and measure space using photography and human proportion for analysis. I began by observing a specific area, capturing its dimensions and structure through photographs while referencing my body to document human interaction and movement.

I developed this analysis with digital tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, enhancing my understanding of composition. This hands-on approach helped me visualize the relationship between the physical world and its architectural representation. The project was crucial in developing my skills in spatial analysis and scale representation, emphasizing the human body’s role in design and deepening my appreciation for the connections between body, space, and design, which are vital for architectural usability.
