Project 16-17 Mobile Shelter A – B

Mobile Shelter A
3D Modeling – Design for Homeless Communities

Building on my research from Skid Row, this project focused on designing an adaptable, portable shelter for homeless individuals using a shopping cart as the structural foundation. The design aimed to provide practical temporary housing, offering protection from the elements while remaining lightweight and mobile. It included adjustable roofing to accommodate different weather conditions, ensuring flexibility and resilience.

Through 3D modeling, I explored various configurations and materials, making the shelter both functional and easy to assemble. This project allowed me to address the pressing social issue of homelessness through design, prioritizing practicality and human dignity. By creating a shelter that could be easily moved and adapted, I aimed to respect the autonomy and needs of homeless individuals, emphasizing the importance of socially responsible architecture.
